| The stock mid pipe / resonator has numerous crushed pipe sections for added body clearance. The result is that the flow rate is negatively influenced by the erratic diameter changes in the tubing. This is very similar to using non-mandrel bent tubing. The continual diameter variation in tubing creates restriction and return backpressure pulses that reduce the desired exhaust velocity to the tail pipe. Supersprint designed their mid pipes with a real X section for perfect exhaust flow balance and without the need for any crushed tubing sections for extra clearance, although adequate clearance is maintained throughout the system. |
